November is the month when the Friends of the Madison Public Library reach out to the community in the form of our Annual Appeal. Your generosity allows us to fulfill requests for programs and materials not covered by the regular Library budget.
As Madison residents, we are fortunate to have a library that is always changing and evolving, offering new and exciting programs for children, teens and adults. During this past year, thanks to the generosity of our many supporters, the Friends were able to contribute over $50,000 to programming and to the collection. The Friends also matched a Rotary Grant for Sphero robots to be used for the education of teens and children.
From proceeds of the Annual Appeal, spring Gala Benefit, the Drew Minicourses and Touch a Truck we are also able to designate funds for special projects. Yes, Touch a Truck will be returning on Saturday, July 28, 2018. Mark your calendars now! Other programs funded by the Friends include the Museum Pass Program, the Summer Reading Club for children, teens and adults and the Summer Seminar Series co-sponsored with the Senior Center.
Please watch for our Annual Appeal letter in your mail in the upcoming weeks and help us continue to enhance the library’s collection and programs for the whole community. As always, and especially during this holiday season, we extend our gratitude for your continued support and generosity.
