The Friends of the Madison Public Library honored Nancy Adamczyk, Director, at their annual Gala Benefit Saturday, March 25 at the library, 39 Keep Street. A crowd of 187 people sipped wine and ate delicious hors d’oeuvres prepared by the Catering Department of the Thursday Morning Club. The Friends’ gift to Nancy was a professional portrait that will be hung in the library. The plaque reads: “Nancy Adamczyk, Director, Madison Public Library — In Appreciation for 46 years of Exceptional Leadership and Devoted Service — May 1, 2017.”

The Friends of the Madison Public Library will honor Nancy Adamczyk, Director of the Library, at their annual Gala Benefit from 5:30 to 7:30 pm Saturday, March 25, 2017 at the library.
“It is a privilege to honor Nancy who is retiring after 46 years of service,” said Sylvia Luber, Chairman of the Friends. “She has truly served the community with such wisdom and grace.” During her tenure, Nancy has been a driving force behind the library’s many innovations. In addition to the introduction of many new programs, there have been extensive physical and technological changes. Nancy has been an important part of it all.

Save the date for The Friends of the Madison Public Library’s Annual Gala!
Saturday, March 25, 2017 at the Madison Public Library from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm.
Our honoree this year will be Nancy Adamczyk who will be retiring in May after 46 years of service to the Library, 38 years as Director. Enjoy delicious food and drink, visit with old and new friends and participate in the 50/50 raffle. Additional invitations and raffle tickets will be available at the front desk of the library. Watch for your invitation in the mail.
The Friends of the Madison Public Library Annual Gala was held on Saturday, March 19th. Over 160 attended and were entertained by the popular local group, Sunnyside Jazz. Carmine Toto, Jr., Carmine Toto III and the Toto family were honored for their generous support of our library and largest fundraiser, Touch a Truck, and for their contribution to the community. Everyone enjoyed the evening’s festivities, including the appetizers provided by the Catering Department of the Thursday Morning Club.

Please join the Friends of the Madison Public Library at their annual Gala 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 19, at the library, 39 Keep Street. The Library Gala is a wonderful opportunity to catch up with old friends as well as meet new people who share an interest in supporting the library. A variety of hors d’oeuvres prepared by the Catering Department of the Thursday Morning Club, wine and beer will be served. Sunnyside Jazz will return by popular demand. A 50/50 raffle will be held. Invitations have been mailed to all residents in the Friends’ database; however, all are welcome to make reservations. Invitations are also available at the front desk of the library, as well as additional raffle tickets.
We will honor Carmine Toto, Jr., Carmine Toto III and the Toto family for their generous support of our largest fundraiser,Touch a Truck, and for their contribution to the community.
Reservations are $50 per person. Payment can be made through PayPal on our website or checks can be made payable to the Friends of the Madison Public Library and mailed to 39 Keep Street, Madison, NJ 07940 along with the R.S.V.P. card. Cancelled checks will serve as a receipt: no tickets will be mailed.
Proceeds from the Gala and other Friends’ events benefit special library programs, particularly children’s programs, and expanded book and media collections not covered in the library budget.
Adult education programs sponsored by the Friends include the Drew University Mini-courses, Tech Tuesdays and Summer Seminars co-sponsored with the Madison Senior Center. Music, movies, poetry, team competition and workshops are popular family events.
