Friends of the Madison Library 2023 Annual Appeal
Each year at this time, the Friends of the Madison Library, a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization, reaches out to the community to ask their support for our popular Library. It is estimated that two-thirds of Madisonians use the library in some way! Generous contributions are responsible for funding programs and materials that are not covered by the annual Borough of Madison Library budget.
The Library and its many patrons continue to rely on the support provided by contributions to the Friends for supplemental funding. Gifts will enable the Friends to support 100% of budgeted funding for the library’s collection of books, audiobooks, craft kits, videos, and streaming services. Sought-after items, such as recently digitized passes to 14 New York-New Jersey area museums and special programs and events for children and adults, are fully funded by your contributions.
With the Library in the midst of five to seven months of planned construction changes, the renovated building will feature reconfigured spacing, workstations, and seating to increase flexibility and meet varying usage demands. In 2024 the Friends have also pledged to assist with expenditures related to acquiring new furniture and equipment.
At the end of a year marked by many changes and the start of the Annual Appeal, a donation can be made by visiting the Friends website www.friendsmadisonnjlibrary.org and making a secure online donation. Checks may be made to “Friends of the Madison Library” and mailed to 39 Keep Street, Madison, New Jersey 07940.
